BOOK REVIEW REQUEST

What to expect from my reviews:

All the reviews I publish are honest, fair and reflect my personal opinions. I know much work and emotion goes into writing every book so I am constructive in my approach and highlight the key aspects which stand out for me such as voice, characterisation, plot and dialogue. I also try to empart a lasting impression on people so they choose to go purchase the book.

I want to make sure my reviews are engaging so links to my life, current affairs, author spotlights, guest blog apperances, (soon to be adding: quizzes and giveaways) are just a few of the approaches I may take. If you’ve got a great idea for a fresh approach I could consider, or would like me to write a guest blog, I’d love to hear from you via the ‘Contact Me' tab on the main page. I also maintain the right to bring in a guest blogger for review. They will follow the same strick format and template I use. I allow them to post the title,author,book cover and statement of guest review on their blog along with a link to take them straight to where the review is originally published.

Paranormal (shifters, vampires, witches,angels/demons, etc.)

Short story collections/bundles (fiction only though)



What I have to turn down:

* There is nothing wrong with these books, they are just not for me.
Books with a political theme
Heavy Horror, Horror
Comedy
Crime
Books with extreme scenes of constant graphic rape and sexual torture.(Human sex trafficking, Human Trafficking )
Books which have not been professionally published (does not include sites such as smashwords, createspace, things og that nature) or edited/formatted properly .
Books which have already been heavily reviewed or debated elsewhere (I’m generally after something a bit different)
Books not in the format I require


How I approach my reviews:

I only feature books which I have read and reviewed. I know some wont post under three stars, but as an author myself I think it imperative to not post a review due to a low rating. These are my opinions.


Here’s a high-level guide to my star ratings:

 5 stars – It was amazing
4.5 stars – I loved it
4 stars – I really liked it
3.5 stars – I liked it
3 stars – It was good
2.5 stars – It was okay
2 stars – It was okay, but not good
1.5 stars – I wasn’t feeling it
1 stars – It wasn’t for me
Did Not Finish

 The rating will appear under the section titled "Overall Impression". Any review I publish be it I personally bought the book, won it, or it was requested can be guaranteed a fair and honest review. I AM NOT PAID TO REVIEW ANY BOOKS.

Where I publish and promote my reviews:

I publish my reviews on the Kristysbrainfood.com and each is duplicated on Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes & Nobel and different writer's forums. I also promote the reviews via Twitter, LinkedIn, Google +, Tumblr, and Facebook via my personal and community pages. I also will publish a review on any site an author or publisher wishes.



How to recommend a review:

I love reading books and publishing reviews but only have so much time. There’s only one 25-hour day a year! So, if you have a book you’d like me to consider, please follow the steps below:



Step 1. Readying a book review request:

Check out my blog first and make sure I am a good fit.
Check it fits under one of the areas in the ‘what I love to review’ section.
You can also gauge if your book may be of interest to me by looking at the reviews I’ve already written here.


Step 2. Prepare your rrequests:

Complete the form on the page, or if emailing request, make sure Book Review Request is in the subject line.
The name of the novel, genre and author.
Where the book can be found and purchased.
A summary of the novel in up to 150 words and/or the blurb.
Social media details of the author.
Please let me know if there is a deadline that I’ll need to consider or to respect in scheduling.

Step 3. Submit your request

Via the form at the bottom of the page, or you can email me with the requirements at: grissom.kristy@gmail.com

Step 4. It’s All me!

Acknowledgement:
 I will confirm with you within 7 days if accepted for review.

**All reviews will be completed within 30days of acceptance, unless a deadline needs to be met and we have a prior agreement at time of acceptance.

Sending the full book:
If I accept and all terms are agreed upon, I will require a full copy in one of the following formats: PDF, .mobi, .epub, or physical print via mail.

Publication:
I’ll give you an estimate as to when I will publish the review and
I promote all reviews through the outlets mentioned earlier in this guide.If you have a specific request for the review to be posted somewhere, let me know and I will try to accomidate you, If you would like to use part of a review for your publicity, I’m normally happy to let you do this, but please contact me to discuss first.
